Rock drill rods type - Is there a drill rod you want here?

Drill rods are tools that connect drill bits and rock drills in well and tunnel engineering.

Yanggu Henglong Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. has been focusing on the production and service of rock drilling tools for more than15 years. Support customers to customize rock drilling tools. Now we will show you Henglong's main product styles

Small hole rock drilling rods

According to the structure, they can be divided into: integral drill rods, tapered drill rod and shank rods. Except for the shank without shoulder, they all belong to the shouldered shank, so their shape, size and technical requirements are the same. It's just that the heads of the three drill rods have the difference of integral inserts (carbide bit), tapered connections and threaded connections. Usually made of 19mm, 22mm, 25mm hexagonal hollow steel.

The integral drill has the characteristics of fast drilling speed, good energy transmission effect during use, and no limit on the lower limit of the drill head diameter. In Europe, Australia, South Africa and South America, etc., the integral drill is often used in the rock drilling during secondary blasting and tunnel mining in open-pit stone quarries.

Compared with the integral drill, there is energy loss in the tapered connection of the tapered-connected drill rod. The tapered connection of the drill rod is the weak link in the drill tool set. However, a tapered-connected drill rod can be equipped with multiple drill bits to drill holes of different diameters; the drill rod will not be scrapped after the drill bit is worn, the maintenance is simple, the price is low, and the drill tool consumption cost per meter of footage is low.

Our shank end drill rod end connect bit with thread way. Normally R22,R25,R32 for small hole. We manufacture shank end rods in the following threads: R22, R23, R25, R28, R32 mainly focus the stone quarrying such as granite, marble, limestone, sand stone quarries drilling, diameter of hole range from 38mm-50mm at most.

Medium & long hole rock drilling rod

Medium & long hole rock drilling rods are mostly connecting rods, with threaded connection structures. There are MM styles with external threads on both ends, and MF styles with one internal thread and one external thread. According to the external structure of the drill rod, there are hexagonal and round rods. Hexagonal connecting rod drill rods belong to trolley excavation tools, and generally round steel drill rods are used for long hole rock drilling. The specific uses and performance are not described in detail here. For more information, please visit our website

Classification by processing

Classification by processing method: Classification by drill rod processing form: roughly divided into five categories: flat head drill rod, pointed head drill rod, straight drill rod, square head slotted drill rod, round head slotted drill rod, the uses are as follows:

1. Pointed drill rod: Cone quadrilateral drill rod is a common type on the market. This type of drill rod has strong penetration. Its characteristic is that it concentrates the force at one point for crushing, which can generate strong crushing force, breaking the surface with a point, and even hard and difficult objects can be easily crushed, such as high-hardness rocks, concrete, etc.

2. Straight drill rod: The working principle is the same as the conical quadrilateral, which is to concentrate energy at one point for crushing. However, due to the flat design, it is more wear-resistant and more suitable for handling some hard crushing objects. Such as high-hardness rocks, layered concrete and other objects.

3. Flat head drill rod: Flat head drill rods are generally used for secondary crushing. Secondary crushing is to crush the crushed objects that have been crushed or medium-hardness objects. Because of the flat-head design, it does not have strong penetration power. Compared with the first two, it is more like a blunt tool. The other two types of wear occur at the end of the drill rod, while the wear of the flat-head design drill rod only occurs in the length. It can also crush brittle and hard objects.

4. Pointed slotted drill rod: generally used for large breakers, 175 and above breakers. This drill rod is suitable for mining, especially for ore with high viscosity. Slotting is conducive to the convenient removal of gas from the head of the drill rod, so that there will be no vacuum gas at the front end of the drill rod to hinder the drill rod from cutting into the ore, making it easier for the drill rod to crush the ore

5. Round head slotted drill rod: In fact, the function is similar to the fourth one.
